I was trying to think about what to write in this week’s blog, my 30th, as this week has been one of simply settling down to my time in New Hampshire. Nothing out of the ordinary beyond getting my brother and his family to the airport, unpacking things as I settle in for the next few months, picking up some fresh fruits and veggies at the local farm stands and farmer’s market, driving around the area and getting my bearings, chatting al little with the neighbors and some locals and figuring out the rest of my life. Well not really, but that was one of the things I was using this time for and while I have ideas, it is still early and as many of you know, I have someone across the sea with whom I have fallen in love.
Then a message came across from Ticketmaster on Friday, and yes, as you may know, I love going to live concerts and I had planned to see the Eagles in their Hotel California tour last year when it was postponed due to Covid to this year, which has and continues to change our lives, both personal and professional. The concert had been postponed several times and then re-scheduled for October 1, at Saint Paul’s Excel Energy Center.
Awesome, and so it was planned, and then the move to New England. Well, being here, and while I could have flown back to Minnesota, other plans came into play including Iceland on that same day, so I knew, I would not get to see them. The tickets are in the hands of Matt, with whom you are familiar, as he is my admin, social media guru and many other accolades, most importantly friend.
As I said, an email from Ticketmaster, the Eagles were going to be at TD Garden, Friday and Saturday. I jumped at it and made an evening of it on Saturday and also continued my Hard Rock tour of America by enjoying dinner at the Hard Rock Café Boston and it was great. I had the iPad, played my songs and in their Boston room, I saw, for the first time in my 55 + visits to Hard Rocks around the world, memorabilia from, you guessed it, BOSTON, and that was so cool. Others from Boston were represented and then the concert. I was, along with the thousands of other there Saturday night, were not disappointed.
Yes, there were the protocols, proof of vaccine or negative covid test and I was happy to oblige. Masks, sure, again, no problem. If this is what it took to see live indoor concerts, I was all in and the band, including Vince Gill and Deacon Frey (yes, Glen’s son) and of course, Don Henley, Timothy B. Schmit and the insanely wonderful Joe Walsh rocked for 3 hours including the whole Hotel California album, and, I believe some 24 songs including James Gang and solo stuff. The crowd roared, danced, sang and just total fun. I was glad I jumped at the chance and I did not miss the Eagles. It was meant to be. Even Don Henley noted that everyone in the band had been tested that day and tested negative.

Yes, this could be potentially political, but for the good of everyone and yes, in June, I returned to Europe for a live conference and face to face meetings versus Zoom meetings, I was and still am all in and could not have been there without the vaccine, at that time. We need to get past Covid for the good of everyone and when the 2nd booster is available to me in a couple of months, I will be there. It is a personal choice, I know, but, for me, personally and professionally, it was right choice.
As always, I am interested in your thoughts, comments, questions and adding to the discourse is always appreciated be in on the site itself or on Facebook, Twitter or wherever you read this. Thank you for your support of this small business and it is truly appreciated!!!
