A real countdown we have now and by this time next week, my status in the world will have been changed forever, and something, based on my history, never would have crossed my mind, but it is truly real. Rosa is here and we are together. We spent this past week together, but not here in New England, but in the Baltimore area and in Pittsburgh, a little business and a little personal time and just got back last night only to hear about a winter storm warning coming into the area. We leave tomorrow for the west coast, but the items we must do today require getting out and getting them done before we leave for the airport again. Wait, we were just there. Yes, but we had to come back, unload the dirty laundry and re-pack for the wedding, yes, the wedding next week and contend with this winter storm warning, but just like anything else, we are weathering the storm, but hopefully just a temporary one.

We really did enjoy our time in the Baltimore area. Rosa has a colleague that owns a travel agency that focuses on alumni groups from different universities, and it was nice to meet the team. We also went out to dinner at a local Indian restaurant and the food was good. I enjoy spicy food, but some of the items were over the top. In any case, it was a nice evening. We went to Ft. McHenry, drove around the city, went to the Baltimore Museum of Art and Charm City Cakes, started by Duff Goldman of Food Network fame. Not he was not there, but it was close to the museum, so dropping in was an interesting experience. We also took a day to go to Annapolis, and to a state park along Chesapeake Bay. These are places I had been before and it was wonderful, but it was even better to see things through Rosa’s eyes.

What can I say as that special day gets closer and closer. I returned to Boston on the 1st and after getting through customs and immigration, about 90 minutes later, Rosa arrived, and my happiness level was more than raised. I enjoyed the last few days in Ireland, of course, but my total focus was Rosa. It had been since last October or November since I saw her in person and now she is here. For me, that is the best thing as the countdown on this day, continues, now less than 2 weeks away. I know that you can’t be happy all the time, but I am very happy right now and really that is what this blog is about, being happy and what makes me happy. The most important thing is being with Rosa and knowing that finally in my life, I have found that special person and will be spending my life with her.

Of course, we have not just sat around the past few days, as Rosa wanted to see a bit of the area that I have called my domicile for the past 3 years, on and off. She has everything for the wedding, but I had to buy a suit, so we went to look and I did the other day. For the record, I have not had a suit in years, and it has to be tailored to fit me, and the actual jacket had to be ordered, so it has been crazy. And, besides, new dress shoes, a belt, a dress shirt, so I am properly attired for the wedding and other events in the future. Having Rosa with me at the Mens Wearhouse, yes, the only place I could think of at the time to go, so we did. And, the jacket arrived yesterday, so today, I get fitted. And, and, and, they have to have it done by the 13th, as we leave early on the 14th of February for the west coast.
