Weathering the Storm with the WP#156

What can I say as that special day gets closer and closer. I returned to Boston on the 1st and after getting through customs and immigration, about 90 minutes later, Rosa arrived, and my happiness level was more than raised. I enjoyed the last few days in Ireland, of course, but my total focus was Rosa. It had been since last October or November since I saw her in person and now she is here. For me, that is the best thing as the countdown on this day, continues, now less than 2 weeks away. I know that you can’t be happy all the time, but I am very happy right now and really that is what this blog is about, being happy and what makes me happy. The most important thing is being with Rosa and knowing that finally in my life, I have found that special person and will be spending my life with her.
Of course, we have not just sat around the past few days, as Rosa wanted to see a bit of the area that I have called my domicile for the past 3 years, on and off. She has everything for the wedding, but I had to buy a suit, so we went to look and I did the other day. For the record, I have not had a suit in years, and it has to be tailored to fit me, and the actual jacket had to be ordered, so it has been crazy. And, besides, new dress shoes, a belt, a dress shirt, so I am properly attired for the wedding and other events in the future. Having Rosa with me at the Mens Wearhouse, yes, the only place I could think of at the time to go, so we did. And, the jacket arrived yesterday, so today, I get fitted. And, and, and, they have to have it done by the 13th, as we leave early on the 14th of February for the west coast.
Fortunately, shopping is not all we did, and we have had a few of New England’s favorite foods like fried clams and clam chowder and, of course, Rosa loves, for some reason, the fried potatoes (French fries) and Cole slaw, not New England specific, but she wanted them. No, we have not had lobster yet, but I am sure we will before she has to go back at the end of the month. We also stopped at a mobile seafood market and bought some smoked salmon and fresh scallops, so we cooked them the other night. Of course, we cooked together with the few ingredients I have in the hovel, and it has been fine. We also got a bit under the weather, a 24-hour bug, colds etc., I suppose because of the stresses related to what is happening, but we are recovering nicely and taking care of each other. It is the cold and flu season. Have I told you how happy I am to have Rosa here with me!!!

The other day, and something Rosa had mentioned she wanted to do was to go to Salem, so we took the day off and drove to Salem to see the Salem Witch Trials Museum and walk around the town. I had once before been there, many, many years ago, but things have changed and as always, anytime I can see something through someone else’s eyes, and someone as special as Rosa, it makes things all that much better. We also drove through several New England towns, beyond Salem and drove along the scenic coastal road all the way back to Hampton, stopping for lunch in Gloucester. In any case, spending the day enjoying the drive with her, was absolutely special. We have other plans for her time here in New England, but mostly not here as in a few days, we are heading to the Mid – Atlantic for a few days and then back and then off to the west coast.

I will be sharing more as we move even closer, including what we will be doing over the next 2 weeks before the wedding, but trying to focus on anything besides the wedding has been hard. I still must balance the work and keeping the clients happy, which I will do, but it is also appreciated the understanding. For the record, the wedding, as short as it will be, will be Livestreamed on Facebook. Details and the link to be shared next week if you care to watch the nuptials.
As always, I hope you have enjoyed my offerings each week and appreciate that you have read my blog posts and look forward to continuing with sharing. Still looking for suggestions for a new name for the blog title. So, I would love to hear your thoughts and ideas for a new name and more than happy to entertain them or in the end, it will stay the same; we shall see. As always, thank you so much for your support of Rosa’s and my little world as we get closer to merging our worlds together. Rosa and I truly appreciate it. Stay safe, healthy, and most importantly happy, and as always, your shared comments and thoughts are most welcome!!!

I read all of your blogs, to get to know you better. I think I have not been with you for about 40 years. These blogs have really helped bring you back into my life
So excited for you and Rosa. See you Friday!

How about "Life Anew" for the blog, or something along those lines?
