A year ago, at the top of the Mark in San Francisco, the 2nd anniversary of our relationship, I had asked her to marry me, and while I tried to ask in Italian, and I felt she was impressed with my efforts, she said she was not ready, and asked for an opportunity proposal and I accepted. The funny thing is that during this last year, she revealed to her ring size and even more so, a ring, she absolutely loved at a local jewelry store near the Coliseum where one of the agencies through which she works was located. I said to her on many occasions that the next time I came to see her in Roma, I wanted to see the ring on her finger and how it looked, since she loved the ring and I was not going to take no for an answer. Saturday, we went over there after she was done guiding at the Coliseum, some 10 minutes walk away, and went in after she showed it to me in the window. It was still there and we went in, and Massimo took it out and she tried it on and it looked beautiful. It is an orange gold and called desert rose and it fit perfectly. I did not think twice about getting it. I think, at first, she thought, okay, try it on and sometime later, we would buy it. No, I said get it wrapped up and ready to go. Yesterday, we celebrated our 3rd year together and the crazy, yet amazing relationship we have had and I took out the ring, she absolutely wanted, and asked her again. She said si, si, si!!! For us, it is another step closer to being together as we work through all the bureaucratic red tape, but I know, and knew the day I met her, this is the woman I want to marry. When that will happen, no dates or timeline set. She talks about doing something in America and something is Italy, but we will take our time. Right now, we are working on the visa that gives me residency, so we will live together and get to that next step. So for me, this was my Super Bowl and I won the best prize I could ever imagine. The love of the most amazing woman in the world and I could not be happier.
Stay safe, stay healthy and always look for the best in a situation and be patient as the best things in life are worth waiting for.
