​Weathering the Storm with the WP# 63

Wow, the week of my next adventure is upon me, and I am truly excited to be going over to Barcelona, a destination I have not been in maybe a decade or more. Yes, Wednesday, I leave for Europe once again and I will be pleased to share this amazing opportunity with all of you. It is for business as I am attending a conference in Barcelona and having in person, not zoom meetings, which will be very nice; also attending a fam trip outside of this focused on the foodie scene in Barcelona and out into the whole region of Catalonia. I only know the basics, but I am sure for the few days it will be enjoyable. It has been a while since I have had real tapas, but I am sure it will be more and looking forward to sharing my experiences on Facebook with all the colors that is this region. 
And, while the front end of this latest jaunt across the pond is for business, there is an element that is truly personal and something, when all is said and done, is why I really am looking forward to being there. Yes, she is flying to Barcelona from Rome for a few days, so we will have time to spend together, and she has said, don’t plan anything. You are not the travel agent here and we are going to just go with the flow. Her exact words I do not remember, but I am not the travel planner here, except, yes, I did get our hotel, sorry not sharing that at this time, but after I have experienced it, for business purposes only will I have a review as well as a review of my experiences there and new ideas to share and arrange for my valued clients who will be coming to Spain in the near future and there are some and later on. I am excited to see what is new since I was last there, again at least a decade ago or more. Since It was February when we were last together, this is a nice break in the time before I get to see her again, which will be this summer and I did not want to wait 5 months, so this opportunity was not to be missed. 

I am writing this early on Monday, not my usual Sunday night, my tickets through Iberia and the organizing committee have not been issued and I leave in two days. Remember I spoke about trust in last week’s edition, well, they assured me that it would be done today and while last week I was stressed to the max with everything going on, the job, the school and the business, I was resigned to the fact that this was nothing I could control and so, my Easter – Passover – Ramadan weekend was good and after leaving the store on Saturday, knowing that I would not be there for two weeks, I was calm and set to catching up which I started to do. 
Besides my client work which needed attention, and it always does, I had to do a full-blown lesson plan for my teaching English as a foreign language class on the past continuous and past simple tenses of verbs for this week’s major assignment. I had to do this from scratch according to the rules of the class. The last time I did a full-blown lesson plan was either as a student teacher back in Queens College in 1988 or in my second year of teaching when the principal of my school, a former marine drill sergeant, required all his teachers to write out full-blown lesson plans for each subject and there were between 6 and 8 each day. With fits and starts and a little help from a friend for some ideas, it was completed and submitted on time and much else was accomplished and while, I still have lots on my plate and will continue to plug away, I once again am in a better place. Besides I would rather be this crazy busy than twiddling my thumbs. What do you think?
So, in closing this edition as I have to get back to catching up with my client’s travels, and await the ticketing of my flight to Barcelona on Wednesday, deciding what to pack, which I will do late Tuesday, or more likely, Wednesday morning, which is my usual MO, I wish everyone a safe and healthy week and look forward to a Facebook Live or two around Barcelona and environs and sharing my latest experiences for your next travel adventure and my time with Rosa.
