Sometimes, you simply don’t have anything that was earth shattering or exciting to share with the world, and perhaps, this last week, was one of those weeks, perhaps not. It was one where I was finally getting into a routine, but really, what does that mean in this day and age. I handled all my major priorities including the job at the store, the business, the coursework and of course, Rosa. If I had to order them, the order would certainly not be the way I listed them but starting with Rosa and ending with the job at the store. I do have my priorities and she is my priority and everything else is a means to that end. Please don’t get me wrong, really, my travel business and the passion I have for arranging travels for all my valued clients is paramount, but finally after all these years having a balance between business and personal life is refreshing. The amazing adventures I am arranging for my clients of which I had have the privilege is just that, a privilege and without that, I would not be here to tell you about those experiences and the opportunity to travel myself; the experiences I have been able to share, of course, most recently with Rosa. The travel bug that was stunted due to Covid has certainly come back with a vengeance and even with inflation and with the war in Ukraine, the passion for travel and its long dormancy has awoken. Of course, I am thrilled by this, and I take every opportunity to thank and appreciate the clients who continue to return to me and refer people to me to arrange their adventures because if there were not returning to me, I would not be here, and sharing my passion.
This brings me to another thought that has been running through my mind these past few weeks and something exciting forthcoming, at least I think so. Not sure that I had mentioned this in any of my previous blogs, and I am not going to check, but in less than 10 days, I am off to Barcelona for a conference and trade-show. I am very excited about this and ready to cross the pond again, especially because after the week of business, Rosa is coming from Rome, so we can spend a few days together before I return to the states. Of course, this will be amazing if I get there and looking forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences. You see, the organizers and the folks who were tasked with getting my air flights, still, and they have had my information for 6 weeks now, maybe more, have not done my ticketing. I don’t want to say the airline, but I will say it is not Delta. Who knows, when this finally gets done, and I can get my seats, I may get stuck in middle seats across the pond, and that would not be a good start to what should be an amazing conference and experience in Barcelona and beyond. If I had been tasked with getting my own air, I would have purchased it as soon as I was approved for this conference. Then this would not have been an issue but knowing I must trust other people to help in my success, is something I am here to do. Trust is extremely important in my business, both between my clients and myself as they are spending their hard-earned money for the adventure of a lifetime, and I must have a trust with my many business partners all over the world with whom I collaborate, to help secure the travel arrangements, so my valued clients do have that adventure of a lifetime. If that trust was not there, then I would not be there. If I had waited until inside of two weeks of travel to secure the flights for my clients, unless that is when they contacted me to set up a trip, I would not be in business, so the trust in this case is waning with the organizers. I was even willing to pay my own way and ask for reimbursement, but that was not an option, so I patiently wait to see an actual confirmed air itinerary from the powers that be. I am supposed to leave on the 20th. One way or another, I will be there, but it is a bit disconcerting. Stay tuned as I look forward to sharing this latest experience I will be having in Catalonia. As always, I am interested in your thoughts, comments, questions and adding to the discourse is always appreciated be in on the site itself or on Facebook, Twitter or wherever you read this. Thank you for your support of this small business and it is truly appreciated!!! Share the knowledge
