​Weathering the Storm with the WP #44

What does possibility mean to you? To me, it means the many options out there or more importantly, what you do with what is available to you. This could be personal, professional or a combination of both. Life provides many possibilities or options and everyone has them. It is what you do with them.

With all the chaos and all the issues personally and around the world, in the past couple of years, I remain optimistic as possibilities continually present themselves and for that I am grateful. I have learned to accept what comes at me and for me and appreciate both. These are opportunities to learn and to grow and learning to deal with the daily challenges is what allows me to move forward.

Have I made mistakes with the opportunities I have been given? Absolutely, and take responsibility for those. Sometimes, there are steps backward and sometimes forward. More forward, fortunately, which is very good. I don’t want to look back, only look forward, but occasionally do look back. I only want to be happy, and that is my focus. What that means to me is different from what it may mean to others, but that is fine as I only have to compete with myself.

With opportunity comes risk and I know I have taken many risks, but if I had not, I would not be where I am now, good and bad. I would not have changed my lifestyle and I would not have fallen in love again. If this pandemic has taught me anything, it is that life is too short and sometimes, you don’t see the opportunities that make themselves available.

If you take anything away from this commentary, be cognizant of your opportunities that present themselves or they may pass you by. Sometimes it is hard to recognize them, but if you try and don’t shy away from them, you too can find happiness, whatever that means to you even in the craziest of times.
