Well, the Thanksgiving holiday has passed and so has Black Friday, the biggest shopping day of the year, but there is still Cyber Monday and Giving Tuesday, and I am sure many other created experiences between now and Christmas, Kwanza, and New Year’s. Of course, this year and every year it is different, Hanukkah and it 8 days of celebration are in full swing. Yes, it is the holiday season and there is absolutely a different vibe than last year. While my focus is my clients and arranging their travels now and, in the future, I am also currently employed in what I thought was a seasonal job, which it has turned out to be more and it gives me a balance between getting in front of computer and being on the phone and getting out in public again which I truly enjoy. While it does not replace working with kids, it allows me more human interaction than the zoom meetings that have become a way of life. While the world continues to open, there are still setbacks. We are once again reminded that Covid is not gone and will not be for some time, now with the latest variant of Covid, Omicron found in South Africa and spreading again. We must remain vigilant and try, albeit difficult, to remind the population to get vaccinated as the basis of finally, getting back to “normal”, getting the vaccine to all areas of the world and those already vaccinated, boosted, so that we are protected, as much as possible against this latest variant and any to follow. This is not a political statement. It is a call for less politics and more helping for the common good. I just received my booster just before Thanksgiving and will continue to follow the science.
Countries around the world are locking down again, at least in the short term, while those in the scientific world figure out if we are protected against this latest variant and to what extent. I hope the world does not go into a panic again and I hope that the media does not portrait the current reality like the sky in falling. We are a lot further ahead than we were when Covid reared its ugly head back at the end of 2019 and knowing there are those that truly want us to overcome this pandemic once and for all. I am in that group that wants it done, as most people want and my livelihood depends on it, as many, whose livelihood depends on travel and hospitality. I remain positive and know we will get through this collectively if we are willing to try. We must, or more lives will be destroyed physically, economically, socially and see no end in sight. I am working this extra job to try, at the very least, to recoup losses I had in 2020 and the first half of 2021, as well as maintain the balance I need in my life and business is certainly returning, which is very exciting for me. It is my absolute passion to arrange travel around the world and here at home for my valued clients, but any bad news on the world scene can change that at a moments notice, so I try to remain ever vigilant and do what I can to make sure I am prepared. Are you? As always, your thoughts, comments, questions, concerns are always appreciated, and thank you for your support of this small business!!! Share the knowledge
