Off to Iceland!!

​Hey everyone, as you know, my favorite place in the world, except for wherever Rosa is, is Iceland. I have been there 20 times and perhaps counting in the future. It has been over the many years, to create a Wandering Puffin adventure to Iceland which, unfortunately, never materialized, but the concept of that experience is what is here in this week’s destination inspiration. 
Iceland has so much to offer, and it is an all-season destination and I have experienced all 4 seasons, sometimes in one day, depending on where in this wonderful little country, the size of the Commonwealth of Kentucky and a population of approximately 350, 000 people, mostly in the capital area of Reykjavik. In the many times, I have been there, I have seen such growth, from what I describe as a small New England town to a bustling city with traffic jams, rush hour, and parking issues, but then a decline during the Great Recession, but Iceland is back, and it is a safe, family friendly, outdoorsy, foodie and cultural destination. Of course, its nature with Geysir, the natural hot springs, waterfalls, some of the most powerful in Europe, the glaciers (see them while you can), and the wildlife, be it whale watching or the birdlife. Oh yes, and they have puffins!!! The horseback riding is wonderful experience with the amazingly docile Icelandic Horse. Yes, it is a horse, not a pony, so don’t mess that up. The Icelanders won’t like that. 
The people are wonderful and very friendly. Yes, you can understand, and you don’t have to speak Icelandic, as they all speak English, even in the most remote places. And while you may think that Iceland, is all that, it has a green about it and has real forests in the eastern part of the country, not just erupting volcanoes and lava and erupting volcanos and lava….. and. You get the point. It is a fascinating country and while I have been many times, I still have not see everything there is to see, but I hope to. In the meantime, enjoy this group tour I created that I hope to host in the future, and I am always able to create your unique adventure to the Land of Fire and Ice!!!
