Looking at the destinations that are open or are opening up sooner than others, I think the key is the vaccine passport as the future, and as the yellow fever card is the standard for many destinations around the world, this vaccine passport will provide the same. Getting it standardized and followed by all, if not a majority of the countries of the world will be the difficult thing, although, it seems it should not be, given its huge benefit for our collective future. The vaccine card should not be politicized and I am not saying it is. It should be a world card accepted by all and have the pertinent and undeniable information on there to allow the world to open up again safely and in this 21st century, be electronic so that it is easily manageable. It has been over a year since I crossed the pond and for the Wandering Puffin, this is unprecedented, at least over the past couple of decades. And, having just read that a country like Iceland, will accept it, in a particular form in lieu of the negative Covid tests, the faster these are able to be developed and issued to travelers, the sooner the countries with walls up will be willing to take them down. Travel and tourism is not only my livelihood, but that of millions of people around the world and the worst, in my opinion, hit industries because of the Covid pandemic and governmental actions in response, so getting the countries of the world to act coherently on this very important document, will help expedite the travel industry gaining a solid foothold on the world again.
